Chana Masala takes its name from its star ingredient: chickpeas. These legumes are skillfully blended with an array of authentic Indian spices, including cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala, imparting the dish with its distinctive and intricate aroma. It stands as a delectable vegan main course firmly rooted in India’s rich culinary heritage, particularly hailing from the Punjab region, nestled between India and Pakistan. It is often accompanied by freshly baked naan bread or fragrant basmati rice. Alternatively, as tradition dictates, it can be served alongside Bathura, the quintessential Indian fried bread.
