New energy for Mutti’s production site in southern Italy
Mutti SpA – the parent company of Fiordagosto srl – has always been committed to respecting the environment and local communities. In recent years, the company has implemented initiatives focused on water and energy efficiency.
Fiordagosto srl, in line with its governance values, has invested in a photovoltaic system at its production site in Oliveto Citra (Sa) for self-consumption, helping to reduce both the amount of fossil fuel energy drawn from the national grid and the resulting CO₂ emissions: a cost-effective and a renewable solution for generating electricity.
This investment has benefited from financial support from the European Union through a call for proposals on renewable energy issued by the Campania Region: “Project co-funded by the European Union, the italian Government and the Campania Region, under the Campania ERDF Regional Operational Programme (ROP) 2014/2020 and Axis 5 – Productive Activities – Action 5.7 of the Campania Operational Programme (POC) 2014/2020”
Given the significant annual volumes of energy drawn from the national grid and the company’s commitment to sustainability, Fiordagosto srl’s project aimed to purchase a photovoltaic system with a nominal capacity of 500 kWp, to be installed on the roof of an industrial warehouse owned by the company, in order to promote energy efficiency.
The system, manufactured by a leading company in the renewable energy sector, is equipped with a reliable performance control and monitoring system that enables the optimisation and comprehensive management of the company’s energy, as well as the immediate detection of possible anomalies.
Below is a photo of the factory before the work began.

Fiordagosto srl’s energy efficiency project involved the installation of 1,219 410 Wp photovoltaic modules, controlled by 10 inverters, each capable of generating 50 kW, for a total of 500 kW.
The project is scalable; indeed, it can generate 999 kWp by installing suitable modules designed to cover the entire roof of the company’s premises.
The system’s smart management maximises solar energy collection and ensures accurate monitoring. Energy production, enhanced by the site’s natural geographical location, is tracked via daily energy reports.
